| Star Trek Animations: Back
in the 1990's, after Star Trek TNG went off the air, or was at the end
of it's series (Can't remember exactly). I started collecting the action
figures. I got bored one day and had an idea. I created a TNG Enterprise
bridge out of a cardboard box sat my figures in it and took a picture. I
thought it was cool, my mom said it was too. This had been the second
one I tried to make and it worked out well. My friend that lived next
door to me (Jayce) came over one day and I showed it to him he thought
it rocked. We came up with an idea to make mini missions that had no
importance what so ever. It was fun for a while (bout a week). Then the
idea sparked in my head. Why not use my mom's video camera to film the
mini missions. My friend and I would move the characters around and have
them do stuff. It mostly never made any sense and we would bust out
laughing. After awhile I kept messing with the video camera and the
figures and I tryed a simple little shot of pausing the camera move the
character slightly and taking a quick split second unpause of it for
about 10 times. I played it back and it was crappy animation. I showed
my friend Jayce and we started making some mini animation missions. I
had a transporter toy of TNG and we would use it too. Later on when I
met my friend Philip he joined in on the Star Trek action. We all had a
fun time. About a year later. I was still making some mini missions and
had gotten a model of the actual ship for some ship footage. Basicly got
tired of making the mini missions so we stopped making them. They where
about nothing and we always had this thing with Q and Worf getting
pissed at each other, Data dancing by request of Captain Picard,
Starwars phaser sword fights etc... You can see images of the enterprise
bridge here: epbridge
A
few years (I think) later I had started watching Saturday Night Live a
lot and they had this skit, which has become known as the Rocksberry
Guys, (they bob their heads to the song What is love by Haddaway and
cause trouble). It gave me an idea. I began filming little shorts of
Riker Picard and Data runing around the bridge and knocking ppl down
(trying to make them bob their heads). Once I got some footage together,
I spliced in an actual opening sequence of an episode, put some
"what is love" music with it and showed it to my friends. They
laughed hard at it. Now that I've learned more about computer and video
stuff, I have captured them on the computer and have them available here
if you want to view them: STTNG_Animations.
Forgive me on one of the videos there, I misspelled animation.
