The NickName Scorpwanna: Ok for those of you that have been wandering where I got my Nickname well now I am going Part 1: Where it all started from: In 1996 I discovered the internet. I had no idea what the internet was at all. This was about when I was taking Keyboarding for the very first time in high school. After we would finish our lesson for the day our teacher would allow us to get on the internet. Of course I, not knowing what the internet was and hearing everyone say some neat things about it, decided to check out what everyone was talking about. Well I got on one day and ever since then it's been an everyday thing. Our teacher did say one thing, she said "I don't want any of you "Chatting!" Well I didn't know what that was so I stayed away from most of the internet. (But at the time I didn't know if I was chatting on the internet or not. Not knowing what chatting was you kind of get the idea!) One day, at my mothers store, we got a really slow computer (but come on it was are first computer) Ok, ok it was a Packard Bell 33mhz processor (very slow). With in the following month I convinced my mother to get the internet at our store. (It was really hard, took a long time, but I did it :)) So off I went everyday in the evening getting on the internet. One day I discovered a Message Board on the site MortalKombat.com. Since at the time I was madly involved with Mortal Kombat. (I would run around the school repeating the things said on the video game, but that's besides the point) Scorpion was my favorite character! Well as soon as I found the Message Board I fell in love with using it. I would post messages like wild fire under my real name B****** **********. But then one day one of the other posters on the board suggested to me that I shouldn't place my full name on the board (he gave me the whole story about people doing stuff and what not) so I decided to change my nickname thingy to something that meant a lot to me at the time. I stopped posting for a while to think of a good name to use. I kept thinking "Scorpion" would be a good one, but someone already had it so I didn't use it. Then I thought "I want to be just like Scorpion!" He was just an inspiration to me (at the time I was taking Tae Kwon Do "actually I miss it", doing the whole high school thing, and since Scorpion was a Martial Artist it kind of went together rather well) So I thought again "Scorpion, and I want to be like him!" Then a flash struck me. "Scorpion want to be" it had a nice ring to it, so I used it. After a while of going by the name "Scorpion want to be", it was suggested to me that I should shorten it. So I shortened the nickname to "Scorpion Wannabe"! Then the unspeakable happened, the Message Board closed down saying that it was becoming a problem with some people. These people where making everyone mad and the posters demanded a different message board type. So the developers of the message board made one were you have to register on it as a certain name. I tried to register on it and I wanted to be "Scorpion Wannabe", but the New message board would only let a person register with only 9 characters, meaning just "ScorpionW" would only show. So I said to myself "The heck with it I'll just go somewhere else!" (there where only 4 people on the new board so I just left) Part 2: Yahoo! Chat days: Later around that time I found Yahoo Chat. I registered for it but the name wouldn't do right. It would look like "Scorpion_Wannabe", and I didn't like it that way. So once again I took some time to choose a new name to use. I took about 4 to 6 weeks off the chat part of the net and came up with a better nickname. It just took a while to think of it. I just decided to cut off the ion from Scorpion and added the wanna off of Wannabe. It was short, sweet and catchy. "Scorpwanna" Ok now that I have my name and all it was then time to start chatting again. I had one heck of a time in Yahoo Chat. I met a lot of people, made them laugh, enjoyed the Yahoo chat environment. A few people I chatted with enjoyed my company, some couldn't wait for me to join the chat and say something funny. I started using yahoo messenger adding the people I met from the chat to my buddy list. I ran across an interest with a few of them, started up a Michel Myers Mask Collecters group on yahoo. After a while things calmed down and I rarely heard from those I had in my buddy list. I stopped going to the chat part of it. Nuff said about that.
